fishing squid?

I have to fish for squid for Lexua. The minigame seems to have changed for better fish. But it's not explained. What do the two hands and "Lascia la lenza" mean? Does that mean I shouldn't do anything? And when A appears, do I press it until it turns green, right? It's incredibly difficult. It's very frustrating at the moment.

"Leave the line" you stop trying to reel until "Lascia la lenza" disappears from the screen.

thanks lilgoober. I tried again but it's frustrating. I tried for hours. changed from controller to kb but it's so hard to get this fish. and i cant quit this quest and stuck on this lighthouse island maybe forever :D uff

it helped me greatly to realize that opposing the arrow was what drew the fish to the goal, unless the paws were up. Fishing went faster from that point.

I am on this quest now, and I have fished maybe a combined 20 seaweed and cans at this point. Am I just wildly unlucky or is there some secret to getting a squid to bite???

Land your throw as close to the splash as you can. Bit of luck to the result possibly, but you should see a sign it worked.
