I feel dirty
Never give Konami money, ever, if you want to play this game download a PS2 emulator and grab a copy of the original or subsistence and play it that way.

Bought this game because I wanted to replay MGS3 and thought heck I never played the subsistence version so this will allow me to experience all the extra content I missed out on, oh how wrong I was, not only does this game crash at inconvenient moments with no manual save to back you up it also has only the base version of the snake eater mission with none of the extra content like Snake vs Monkey, MGS3 Online or the secret theatre. Oh sure it includes the improved camera from subsistence and an upscaled resolution but that is it, the only thing this version includes that the other versions don't is a suite of new crashes which is something that you definitely do not want, this is the worst way to play MGS3

I agree with ya, only real reason I have them on steam is because I love going for achievements. This port is pretty meh and like you mentioned its technical problems are pretty bad at times. The game runs pretty good for me but if someone is just getting into the series then emulation is the best choice.

Not Konami fault if you don't check what you buy, it's not mentionned anywhere that it's the subsistence version.

None of the game in the collection crashed for me so it's related to your PC.

Eh maybe but if a company is going to remaster a game you would expect it to be the best version of the game rather than a cut down cash grab that is inferior to the copy that was released 20 years ago.

This is a port of the HD version, not Subsistence.

The original HD version didn't have Monkey or Theatre. However, it did have ports of MG1 & MG2. Those games were put in their own separate package. (They are $20 but if you buy the whole collection they're free. BS but what can you do)

Also, look into the Crouch walking mod if you want to feel justified for the purchase.

It's not a remaster thus you have proved my point:

Yeah I read what you said and re-posting for attention will get you nowhere, still does not change the fact that this game released at the tail end of 2023 is inferior to the base game that was released in 2004.

When re-releasing a game the goal should be to make it better, not to release a half baked chopped down version that is worse than the original.

MGS3 never came on PC.

As I've said you should really do some research because right now you are speaking without knowing and it's pretty obvious, so you are mad because you bought something without doing your own research (you wanted MGS3 subsistence) then you complain because it's a remaster with less content than Subsistence version (and It's not a remaster, because you didn't do any research at all) and now you talk about re-releasing a game that never was released on PC (we are on MGS3 forum).

GOG version of MGS1 is different and doesn't include some stuff the collection have so you would be also wrong here.

MGS2 PC version is mostly the same aside some bugs IIRC.

Just accept the fact that you can only blame yourself for not doing your own research.

Konami never lied about this being a remaster, it's called "METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater - Master Collection Version" not "METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Subsistence - Remaster Collection Version".

So in the futur do some research because you got what you have paid for here.

Well, this is old lol
As well as research, could've looked through this forum and found a ton of threads with the same subject matter...
