This is what the collection should have been when it came out
I was a defender of the Master Collection upon release because I was basically just looking for a way to play them for the first time. All this talk about controls and graphics were something I understood, but didn't bother me that much because I was just looking for a functional way to experience the story, which it was.

The good news is that, with the amount of patches and updates we've had over the course of a year, what we have now is basically what old fans were asking for. You can change the resolution (although there's only two options and no way to change the aspect ratio), and you can now use mouse and keyboard with your own personal control scheme (although, adjusting it is a difficult workaround). The only big demand that's missing as far as I can tell is that there's still no way to set audio and subtitles in different languages.

If you dismissed the Master Collection upon release for just being a lazy copy of the HD Collection, then that's completely fair. I just hope that with how it has changed, maybe you'll be a bit more intrigued to play it now. After all, the reviews on the Steam page positively increased very quickly.

"We want the games on PC and console, port them"
*Konami port some MGS game*
"WE WANTED REMAKES !"

People want remakes for 20$ when MGS DELTA is "near the corner", I'd prefer that Konami focus on DELTA and MGS VOL2 over increasing 16 pixels on the screen.

All ports need to do is to be playable, if you complain that it's not 4K and as fluid as MGS5 with K&M then you are the one having an issue, buy MGS DELTA when it's out If you want a remake.

MGS fans have been asking for years a port of the old games and the majority are happy about that when you see the reviews so I'm happy with the port.

I was realist and expected only 1 version of the game and that's it, yet we got multiple versions, a lot of stuff to read along some extras and I've never had any issue so why would anyone be mad about what ports are supposed to do ? Don't answer the question no one really care. :MGS2_Otadot1:

i remember a random guy fixed the 720p resolution lock in this port 3 days after its release while kobambi was still "looking into the issue" for weeks lol.

Good thing is they're now afraid of repeating the same mistake with vol.2 and said they'll be polishing it properly (if it ever comes out). I wouldn't bet on it though.

I wouldn't exactly say "fixed", that mod was a brute force job that broke a bunch of graphical effects (which I say as one of the actually contributers to the mod), which is what Konami was trying to avoid doing (and the reason they used FSR upscaling for all the patch 2.0.0 resolutions that are above 1080p.)
