You can only get the Mosin Nagant by defeating The End non-lethally. If you're in the fight with The Fury, then it's too late. Once you finish that fight, the path back is blocked off.

that sucks the i did defeat the end non lethally i just forgot to pick it up

That's rough, you can always get it next playthrough I suppose.

unfortunately no. There was a small drop at the start of the mountains that is too high to climb back over, it'll require going back to an earlier save if possible.

That being said, I rarely find the opportunity to use the Mosin in the fight with the Fury, and there is just a single other boss fight after that where I use it if I care about a no-kill run, which I don't think has any awards except the Peace Walker achievement.

If you're close to him, you do need to be decent at quickdrawing the weapon, but given the fight starts with two of you far apart, you basically get 1 free headshot on him.

I wasn't referring to mouse and keyboard, just controller. I was just pointing out that the Mosin is a great weapon to use against The Fury.

Headshots don't do extra damage against The Fury, he takes the same amount of damage regardless of where you hit him. Also, the Mosin only does a little over 1/8th of The Fury's stamina in damage, it's an 8 shot kill.

I stand corrected, it's still an excellent weapon to use against him.

If you have the SVD, it's equally effective against The Fury, the only problem of course is that it would be a lethal kill.
