MGS 3 Crashing?

I did my first playthrough of this game without mods but decided I would like the audio fix and the hd upscale. I can play through the entire game just fine up until i get to the first cutscene after the bike ride with Eva. There is a bugged out picture of the Shagohod that pops up and will freeze and end up crashing 99 percent of the time. i have gotten to this point on 2 separate playthroughs just to make sure the save file wasn't corrupted. I've uninstalled the mods and verified the integrity of my files twice with it finding a few miscellaneous files that still haven't fixed anything. I've done everything I can think of to resolve this and was curious if anyone else had any incite on this or also experienced the same issues as me.

That's why I don't use mods, you never know if it will break or not then have to redownload everything unless it was really tested (Like I play resident evil 4 remake playing as Venom Snake with a nightmare mod but a friend already tested the mod).

I'll say open up the game file and see if it got some files that usualy remain even when you verify cache, if you find nothing then you need a clean install, uninstall the game and check that the game folder is empty, if not delete the remaining files, the reinstall the game and it should be fine.

I doubt that cloud save would be the issue if it kept some data but we will know when you do all of the above.

Thanks for the idea, I'll try that later tonight to see if it fixes it. Ill let you know if it does or not when i do.
