Awesome buuuuuut... does that require a pressure sensitive controller? Or can I remap controls to xbox style to pull off CQC and such?
No.
You can even adjust the pressure threshold through the pressure sensitivity mode options
The latter is much more preferable with MGS3's control scheme.
Not recommended unless you have a supercomputer from the future with a much more optimised build of PCSX2.
Was kinds preferring to go PS2 so I can get the full MGS3 Subsistence experience. How's the resolution options?
The PS2 version is also not optimised for widescreen, it'll show some jank things during cutscenes in the exposed widescreen parts if you use the widescreen cheat, not to mention the stretched HUD. If you're OK with 4:3 though, it's fine.
Though the higher the resolution the bigger the performance-hit.
And you'll have to use a widescreen patch for the widescreen-support, which causes a few funny issues where actors who shouldn't be on screen anymore are still seen outside the 4:3 boundary.
I have an old 6700k + 3070 and play the pcsx2 version with 60fps patch and it runs fine 90% of the time, at 6x resolution scale on top of that. WTH are you talking about? supercomputer from the future?
you find everything on the web and the emulator is fool proof.
Wtf are you talking about?
You can play MGS3 and MGS4 with a i5 4460 and GTX750ti with 16gb RAM.

It doesnt offer any improvements over the 2012 release though, in fact had Metal Gear 1 & 2 gutted to be sold seperately (but given those arent MGS3, i'm not factoring that into my verdict).
Unofficially, I am curious what modders can do with this port.
