What are the real system requirements?
16 gigs of RAM sounds absurd for a supposedly "native" port of a 20 year old playstation 2 game. Did Konami mislabel the system requirements like they did with Phantom Pain again? Phantom Pain suggests 16 gigs as well but runs on just 2 playably.

Does anyone have metrics for the real system requirements of the game? Would I be able to play this on an older pc or is this just a pcsx2 emulator?

Pretty sure they just never updated the system requirements to reflect the real requirements. If you can run it emulated, you can easily run the port.

No, I'm able to play it on PCSX2 but this port runs under the 60fps on some scenarios, and starts running in slowmotion.

GTX980 for some Ps2 games is a little too much, considering MGS V is from 2015 and has lower requirements.

slow motion really makes it sound like a pcsx2 emulated version because thats what happens when the ps2 emotion engine cant get enough CPU time

Sometimes it's just engine's fault, a good example is Dark Souls Remastered, that game has the same issue and I'm sure it's not an emulation.

I haven’t gotten to the motorcycle scene at the end yet, but it runs at 60fps on the steam deck so far, so I am guessing any semi-decent PC can run it fine.

I feel like the motorcycle sequences, particularly the second one, doesn't quiiiiite run at 60, but they run fairly well nonetheless.

I play on an i5-9400f, RX 570 and 16GB of RAM on three year old AMD drivers with no issues at 60fps/1080p. Using the 1080p res mod and sound fix mod.

While the system requirements are exaggerated, MGS2, MGS3, and even MG1/MG2 don't boot at all on GTX 700 series cards and older for some reason. If I had to guess, these ports demand features that those roughly decade-old cards lack.
