How To Swap Controller Ports to Fight The End?
You can switch over to port 2 in the original so he can't read your moves, much like Psycho Mantis in MGS1. Is there a way to do this in this version?

What, the end doesn't read your moves, that's psycho mantis. Ends a sniper using his scope to spot you but (L1 R1) opens that menu

This was never a feature.

Only special things I remember from this fight is 1: Killing him in his wheelchair much earlier in the game, and 2: Changing your consoles internal clock during the fight to make him die from old age. I don't recall port swaps in anything but mgs1

There are lots and lots of ways to beat The End, most of which can be done in interesting and creative ways, one of my favorites but also the cheap way; was the internal playstation clock changing method. xD

But yeah, i don't recall this fight in Snake Eater ever having a controller port mechanic for The End; that's something specific to the Psycho Mantis fight.

There's only one boss that makes use of that gimmick, which is Psycho Mantis of MGS1. There is an easter egg in MGS4 where you'll be chewed out by Otacon for attempting the same thing against Screaming Mantis.

It is literally a who finds who fight, pure and simple. If you wanna skip the fight, change your clock ahead by a week.

what are you even talking about? The End never read your moves

that being said if you have trouble finding him, press R3, it switches to the old camera mode, and USUALLY this is a disadvantage, however, during The End fight, occasionally your viewpoint will switch to The End's sniper scope, so atleast you will know hes targeting you

cool little eastern egg

the end is an easy fight he only camps in certain spots so once you learn those spots its all a matter of going to each till you find him

you can use thermal goggles to see his footprints this'll make finding him easier

if you dont have thermals you can use the d.mic to listen for him (after you damage him he'll start to wheeze making it even easier to find him)

I swear to god I remember him having serious trouble finding me at all when I plugged my controller into port 2 man... holy crap... Like, trust me, I know about Psycho Mantis, but I swear...

You just got lucky. Besides, you should find him.

you need to hold your controller upside down while inputting the konami code to disable the ends shoes so he trips and falls, not swap controller ports.

I lick the L1 and R1 buttons of every controller I own the moment I remove them from the packaging

That was funny because Otacon was also talking about blu rays and how it was much better tech because you don't have to swap discs
