as rob in metal gear stupid said "you got camo" you dont have to kill or put ppl to sleep alot of the time you can just move from place to place IN THE OPEN as long as you have good camo. if u dont have a weapon equipped you can look around in 1st person its up to you on how to play but u asked "Why does snake keep aiming his weapon?" im telling you, Dont have a weapon equipped if you want to look around without a gun getting in the way.
A real MACV SOG operator named John Stryker Meyer recounted how he would often point shoot in jungle firefights, and didn't care for optics even though he had access to them. He's written a number of books about his military career during the Vietnam war, and has done some video interviews too.
This did not happen in the original game, it is a bug present in the HD Collection and the Master Collection. For some reason that I don't know, the game keeps the aiming when you unequip the weapon while aiming and re-equip it, which causes numerous problems, not only in the final bosses but also when controlling detained guards
It's present in pretty much in every release of the game that's not either on PS2 or PS3
