A new speedrun category is coming.

Some glitches can only be performed on this master collection (on PC) so speedrunners will get some new fun.

I know this sounds irrelevant but please bear with me.

Can you transfer saves from the "old Substance port for PC" to this master collection? I ask because a number of the skips (like the Stillman cutscenes about the C4 at the beginning of the game) can't be done without being on NG+. I have a save I set up on the OG PC Substance (which I own on disk) ready for a speedrun attempt. But all my speedrun attempts are PS3 based from the Legacy Collection. I understand that this PC version is based upon the Substance release like the Legacy Collection.

I tend to attempt glitch less runs. So no real skips at all. And it is easier to record the gameplay on PC than it is from my PS3 to prove I can do the run. Although that bridge skip seems to avoid the UAV's and the soldier with the binoculars.

Don't quote me on that but I doubt that the save would be compatible, but you could get someone else saves so you would have an NG+ file or an even more complete save if you wish, make a request on this steam forum or ask in an MG reddit if you can't find one online, I've searched and nexusmod got "MGS2 ULTIMATE SAVE MODDED".

I hope that help and once again I don't believe your save would work but I've never tried (and I can't) so I can only hope that using an NG+ save would help, sorry.

Please do not apologise, it is not needed, chum. I do not want another persons save file as I can just do a run and get it done soon enough. The wait for someone else to have a file that I would use (especially a no dog tag run) would probably equal the time it would take to do a run myself. I can do the tanker and shell in about 90-135 minutes anyway, so it would not take long to get done.

I will experiment later on to see if it does work, just because it would be good to know. I know I am in a minority owning the disc version for Substance anyway. But I do want to try out the new glitches including the one you listed.

You are welcome, as you may know the glitch you find in MGS2 also work here, I've even managed to pull the door skip in tanker and Arsenal (couldn't pull the ladder and Shell 2 skips but I never tried hard enough) so yes you'll probably beat the game in less than 2 hour as nothing much changed AFAIK. Well you can press R3 to aim, in MGS3 you have the 3rd person camera + L3 aiming.

Oh wow you remember me ? I've heard about horizon (I don't remember how) but I didn't check it out yet, a friend lent me his gaming PC so I could play Elden ring while he got my Switch to play the 2 Zelda game (BOTW and TOR) + Link awakening and later that new zelda game and he got my Hyrule warrior so that give me some weeks but Elden Ring is a long game so I gotta focus on it before my time with it is up.

......Well it's 2024 and I bought XCOM: UFO DEFENSE to try some mods (had a GOG version on my old PC) too so aside MGS VOL2 and MGS DELTA I doubt that I'll get new games aside if there is a big sale, but even then I'll play them later.

Anyway I'm way off topic now, have fun.
