So many issues
Playing on Linux, Steam Deck and PC. Started playing tonight, have a save a bit over an hour in the tanker. So far I've had audio disappear on codecs and enemy alerts (none of the fixes on the forum have worked), I've had a save file corrupt on me (this is supposed to be fixed), and I've had one hard crash. I've also read there's memory leaks at various points that crash the game.

What the heck is up with this port?

Remove your mods.

No mods, I literally just installed it last night when I made the post. I got it working finally. Had to grab the redist file from my Steam Deck (didn't download on PC for some reason) and that DLL worked once I used the launcher flag for WINEDLLOVERRIDES with it. I think the file I originally downloaded may have been 32-bit by mistake.

Yeah 32-bit messes with audio somehow. Someone here said it turned everything staticy.

That said even though the game is verified you still need to use the workaround to fix audio?

Only on my PC. It’s on EndeavorOS, Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, Radeon 6700 XT GPU.

For some reason it’s not adding the correct XAudio file on desktop. On my Steam Deck it works as expected (other than the corrupt save issue, which seems to have been caused by a crash while playing on the Deck.

Turn your antivirus off.

I also encountered the "DAMAGED FILE" error, only on Windows instead of Linux. Strangely, I was able to load my save file just fine earlier after updating to Ver.2.0.0, but upon booting the game on another PC, the save file shows up as "damaged" on both that PC and my main PC.

Back before this bug supposedly got fixed in Ver.1.3.0, save files never actually got "damaged", it was just the game being silly, so I assume the same thing is happening here, especially since the "damaged" save data hasn't been modified in months. Literally the only files that have been modified after updating the game are launcher_sv and usersv.

Anyway, I suggest submitting a bug report to Konami regarding the "DAMAGED FILE" error. The more reports they get, the faster it should be fixed, hopefully once and for all.

Never used Linux so I have no idea, if a linux don't need an antivirus that seem weird but ok, you've said: "Playing on Linux, Steam Deck and PC." so at least on PC turn your AV off or whitelist the EXE.

You'd think it'd use the exact same one that works on a Steam Deck. But I guess I don't know a lot about linux, just thought the same kind of fix would be universal on linux systems...

I haven;t seen such mocking since the early '10s. Does that mean they finally have drivers for your PC?

Meanwhile, on a fresh Deck install (no mods, it's a completely fresh install) I'm getting no audio on codec and cutscene voices.

It was fine for a long time. Removing the game to clear up space for something else and reinstalling six months later was apparently a big mistake.

Yeah, I had zero issues on the Steam Deck, it was on my Linux desktop PC I had problems.
