MGS2 and MGS3 Master Collection Version vs Xenia/RPCS3

Bought this collection when it released but i wasnt quite impressed with the package compared to the X360 collection. Since then many mods have been released to fix it and i'm curious: how does this collection (mainly MGS2 and MGS3) stack up now? Do the mods make this the definitive way to play these games on PC? Or would the emulated versions (Xenia or RSPC3?) perhaps provide a better experience, comparable to the X360 HD version?

(PS: I'm not a fan of the pressure sensitive controls, so the X360 pretty much became my go-to for these games)

The modding scene is pretty extensive so I think it can surpass emulating the PS3 or 360 versions. Still, the game will likely get more official patches and the modding could have minor issues that also might get updated. Relatively minor differences comparing both ways to play though probably. As always PC Gaming Wiki is the first place to look.

The old X360/PS3 HD Collection versions are a downgrade at this point, here's the full list of all the issues that have been fixed from those older versions (as well as what's still an issue):
