Disc read error mgs2?

I got an error while playing mgs2. shows a flashing CD with a ? in upper right corner. like a disc read error that you would see on ps2. anyone else have thise issue?

je connaît se bug, konami ne la jamais corrigé auparavent !!
(que se soit sur PC ou console, apparement il manqueré des script dans le jeu)

il te suffit d'appuyer très vite sur la touche X pour passé la cinématique
(cette scéne cinématique est bugé dans mgs HD collection)

I had this issue, I'm pretty sure its because the controller connection drops out during a cutscene

I had this issue. I was on steam deck and used Decky's Pause Game extension. I forgot about it, and when I came back game's frozen with the disc icon when unpaused. Hope that means anything on whatever causes this issue.

I'm not sure. Honeatly I'm just wanting any fix at this point. But if I need to reset I'll do it.

This was happening to me but this fixed it. Right when I entered the elevator I mashed XXXXXXX and I was able to avoid the error but I missed a few cutscenes =/ I guess I'll youtube them. But Thanks for the fix my dude!

Having the exact same issue. Not sure what to do to fix it either
If anyone does find anything, please let me know :)

Not really a fix... But if you're desperate to carry on the game, there is a save with access to the dev menu floating about. You should be able to drop it in your MGS2 saves and use it to at least load up and carry on from just after that point. Remember to make a backup of your previous save first.

Then load the new save from the menu.

It's not labelled particularly well so there might be a bit of trial and error.
