How do you guys play without pressure sensitive buttons?
I only ever played this on the PS2 when it came out. You lightly held square to aim your rifle, and could release it to not fire. Or immediately begin firing by hard pressing square. With handguns you could hard press square and it only fired on release.

I actually don't remember what they did on Xbox or elsewhere. How does this collection handle it in lieu of pressure sensitive buttons? How do you hold enemies up, just switch to handgun?

Click the left stick while holding fire to lower your handgun.
Nice collection btw.

Edit: Your collection, not THIS collection

Like in MGS3 you press L3, it's so much better than in the OGs.

A more interesting question is, why keep whining about it when you 1. Do not have the game, 2. Do not intend to buy it. :steamfacepalm:

Not only should you never buy it, you should buy the original games, and get yourself a bunch of emu's.

1. Can't afford the collection.
2. Mad that we enjoy the collection.

This was fixed 12 years ago when they put the game on the Xbox 360.

Pressure sensitive buttons were never needed for MGS2 anyway if you don't use automatic weapons.
You can just unequip your gun before releasing Square to not shoot. I did it every year for like 18 years on the PC version

I miss pressure sensitive triggers, but am just glad this game was ported to PC properly after 20 years and I say that as somebody who bought the GOG version.
