Reasons why and how MGS:Twin Snakes is the definitive and superior version of the MGS1 story :

And why it should get included in the PC collection

• Better graphics/audio - even nowadays TS still look fine, while MGS1 on ps1 is a low-poly pixelated fest, potentialy detering newcomers from getting into the serie. That is also true for music and voice acting which are of much higher quality in TS.
  
  
• Better gameplay - by bringing in MGS2's refined gameplay the player gets much more freedom in every situation, while still being fully optional. People seem to forget how incredibly easy MGS1 already was, even with the original basic and restrictive gameplay.
  
  
• Better "Metal gear vibe" : after MGS1 which was 99% serious and 1% silly, games from the serie settled on a perfect ratio of 85% serious and 15% silly, in that sense TS is much more representative of the rest of the serie. It is also pretty naive to believe Kojima had no input or control on narration, especially cutscenes : the few "silly" TS moments most likely originate from this creative input.
  
  
• Many MGS fans didn't get the chance to try this awesome remake, because they already had a PS2 and couldnt justify purchasing a Gamecube for a single game. As a result including TS in the PC collection will hugely boost sales, as it's a piece of content most fans have missed and will be glad to experience by themselves.
  
  
• The community is demanding it, as demonstrated by this very thread being the most commented upon, and by far. The second most commented topic of these forums is also a TS appreciation thread, that shows how emotionally invested the community is in this game.

Silicon Knights filed for bankruptcy 10 years ago, the IP is probably floating in gaming nirvana. It runs very well on emulators though.

Twin Snakes would've been nice. I prefer it over the original in some aspects but fanboys really crapped on it for the matrix like fight scenes. It's really strange those people say Twin Snakes was too over the top in a series with metrosexual vampires, Illuminati governments, cybernetic ninja's who break-dance, bikini clad girls who breath through their exposed skin, and a certain mercenary who routinely craps his pants for lolz.

I was pointing ot the "Nintendo problem". A million-something sold copies for RE4 was ridiculously low for a GC exclusive. The PS2 version had probably twice as many. I had a censored GC version with some weapons and the mercenary part completely missing, so I got another, imported version (and an action replay module to play foreign games). The first steam version alone had 4 million sales, and that version is a really bad port.

2. We'll never see it on PC. Blame Nintendo
3. Get an emulator and play your (legally purchased) retail version. I'm currently sniffing mine and it smells like plastic and success. Just teasing...

While the TTS rom is available easily and runs perfectly on Dolphin, I can't and won't advocate for piracy here.
Anyway people are free and I'm not behind their back, and it's a good way to replay it if they own the original disc.

Even your logic here doesn't stand since it's collection VOL1 so even adding the 2nd worst sold MGS wouldn't make the collection complete.

You gotta be joking. The Twin Snakes might be the worst remake ever made. It's a horrible game that should be forgotten. The MGS 2 gameplay literally does not work within the MGS 1 environment, it breaks the whole game.

I highly recommend drk29's Twin Snakes walkthrough on youtube if anyone would like to know exactly how bad that game is.

Even till this day, it still holds up well when played in 4K 60 FPS, looks clean af. No WAY id be playing MGS OG, its too outdated. MGS Twin snakes needs to exist for those wanting to play OG MGS with updated graphics and gameplay, for pure story/cinematics, go replay youtube videos or play MGS PSX/steam version. I love twin snakes, dont care if its hated, it needs to be in a collection one day, i would 100% the achievements for that game for sure.

and for those cry babies that say the new gameplay changes breaks the game, well in most sandbox games, like BG3, there are many ways to break the game, even tho its meant to be a linear story driven game, from skipping bosses completely, to making hard situations a cake walk. Do you see an uproar? hate? nope, all it gets are 10/10 from everyone, and infact it makes the game funner.

It's that mental illness you fanboys have that the game needs to tailor to your needs, or you want it to be 100% OG or its no good mindset.
