It's awesome they are updating with changes a lot of people have been asking for, but skipping out on enhancements for MGS 1 really bums me out. Hopefully it's just being worked on and is taking longer than MGS 2 and 3...

This, but adressing it would be nice, all they said was "The latest version will remain Ver.1.5.0. Note that this is not a patch for Ver.2.0.0."

No news of it arriving or when.

MGS1 is already in a near-perfect state. As far as I know, the only remaining things to fix are some very minor audio issues and the awful keyboard controls. The option to play at a higher resolution could be added in the future, but the demand for that isn't as great as it was for MGS2/MGS3, and it wouldn't be simple to implement. In fact, last I checked, increasing the resolution with the fan-made MGSM2Fix introduces some major graphical issues.

Personally, I'd still play MGS1 at the original resolution. Early 3D games—especially PS1 games—just don't look right at higher resolutions.

I just beat the game last week and just found out about the patch, just to see that MGS1 is not affected with the resolution options... I played it with the MGSM2Fix and looked great, but cutscenes were a bit glitchy but was tolerable... What is not tolerable are the saw blade borders we got because of the low resolution :dip:
