Not gonna lie I doubt that VOL1 sold enough to make a VOL2.
Why would they name Master Collection Vol 1 if they were never going to do a Vol 2 lol. Then there was the leaked stuff on the website that kind of gave away the planned games are probably MGS4, 5, and Peace Walker.
Nothing force Konami to make a VOL2, if VOL is a big failure they don't want to continue on that trend. Should be easy to understand.
I doubt that they will put MGS:TS since no one ask for it + it was a huge failure considering how bad the game is, I'll say they'll put the PSP games in another VOL since portable ops isn't really canon.
As a bonus they may add ghost babel.
I get that Twin Snakes is divisive especially among purists who believe it ruined MGS1. Though it got positive reviews and I like it. I feel it's part of Metal Gear history and should be available if even as a stand alone purchase. Then it's your call to buy it or not. It does not replace the original game, as long as you accept that I think it's fine.
Doesn't matter if I accepet that or not in the end Konami know that fact, since it's just a remaster/remake of MGS1 it bring nothing new to the lore so playing MGS1 is enough for players to understand the serie.
If they didn't added it in VOL1 when it got MGS1 then they'll probably never port it here.
I thought Twin Snakes was closer to what Kojima had envisioned for the original? That's what I heard.
It's not that his vision for Twins Snakes was closer to what he had in mind for the original, rather that he had a different vision for Twin Snakes altogether, at least when it comes to the cutscenes.
In terms of extras, I'd love to see at least just a ROM dump of Ghost Babel included and, if it wasn't being marketed as the main draw, an emulated version of Portable Ops would be nice, as I don't think it would be worth the effort to do a native port. In terms of release timeline, I doubt they will want to clash with Delta, so I would expect it in 2025 at the earliest.
Knowing Konami though we will probably get a cash-grab volume 3 that includes Rising, Survive and Possibly emulated versions of AC!D 1 and 2
