Special item achievements not unlocking

Beat the game twice, first play through was for the bandana and the second was for the fox/bb and stealth achievements. fox/bb achievement did unlock but the stealth and bandana haven't. Is this happening to anyone else? And is there a fix?

If memory serves me right, you also should get the tuxedo in your 3rd playthrough, no?

you have to save your clear data or it won't pop.

I did both times and I used the items in the new play through after saving just to see if that'd unlock the achievements

I don't have a tuxedo but it might be because I did 1 playthrough on english and the elite on japanese

I did that too and got both achievements at the same time (BIG BOSS and bandana), I got the achievement at the score screen.

Are you playing on steam deck ?

That's what I was afraid of, on steam deck it's pretty buggy, normaly at the score screen you would get the achievement so the only option I see with Steam Deck is to retry from the closest save you have to endgame, you can get the achievement from any MGS1 version so that's not the issue here.

Aside confirming that on PC it did trigger for me I can't help you with a steam deck issue and AFAIK the mods don't have a fix for that, you could try and check it.

If you know how to you could try to get a save to the Liquid chase part that way you'll take 3 minute to complete the game and try to see if you'll get the achievement after some tries, that's all I can think of sorry.

playing my end game save on pc got me the stealth achievement and I assume it'll work with the bandana one too. thanks again!

Glad that your issue as been solved even if it would have been better if it worked on steam deck but sadly aside MGS1 saying that it's mostly compatible Konami doesn't really say that it's compatible, so you may find more issues on steam deck than on PC so if you intend to play MGS2 & 3 on steam deck be sure to check the forums since one post in each of them have mods that do work for steam deck meaning you may find some fix there for these games, IIRC.

I finally finished my playthrough of MGS1 and scored the bandana. I'm on the steam deck yet I got the achievement. Normal on US copy

Dumb question but any chance you're on beta for MGS1 for the early 1.2.2 fix? Other than that, I don't know what's up with this game not handing out proper achievement flags.

If you want a quick achievement grab, I can provide my US Normal fighting Liquid. Otherwise, congrats on Elite achievement.
