Freezing cutscene

Beat Rex 3 times today and during liquid's speech the 2nd cut-scene has frozen all 3 times, anyone know of a fix?

i figured it out. i had the same damn problem consistently like you. right click METAL GEAR SOLID.exe>properties>compatibility and tick the following:
- windows 7 compatibility mode
- disable fullscreen optimizations
- run this program as an administrator
- use legacy icc color management
click ok

- play in window mode
- spam start button and face buttons as soon as the fade out to the skippable cutscene begins

i also locked the framerate to 30fps in my nvidia control panel which is an absolute nightmare in. i just figured i would throw a slurry of fixes at it in one go and these all combined worked. as soon as you get to the fist fight with liquid save the game immediately as loading that will pick up right there which is handy if you locked the frames and want to get back to 60fps. PLEASE REPORT BACK WHAT WORKED FOR YOU FOR OTHERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM!

edit: it seems locking fps to 30 fixes the cutscene crashing. i turned that on alone for the credits crash and it got past a freeze and to the end of the credits! if you're gaming on an nvidia laptop, you can use battery boost in the geforce experience settings to drop your game fps automatically to 30 as soon as you unplug the charger.

Locked mine at 30fps and it keeps crashing on the otacon cutscene after defeating grey fox.

i'm still getting bugs after the updates including no audio...
Would suggest just getting the GOG version,
the PC port has HD text and widescreen hacks.

The PC version also now has full HD resolutions, analog support and hotkeys shortcuts for all the weapons fixes.
There's also audio patches, elevator delay removal and radar during evasion patches,
(GOG version also has borderless fullscreen and is compatible with all the new fixes/mods)

My guy...just wanna say you save me from uninstalling and quitting forever. Can't thank you enough, as cool as Ninja was I started to get annoyed at fighting him just to get past the unskippable cutscene LOL!

Tried everything here and it is still freezing while talking to Hal after the Gray Fox fight

I'm having the same issue. It happens after the second phase of the REX fight, AFTER an unskippable yammer-fest from Liquid. The moment a particular cutscene starts, the game freezes. troubleshooting is impossible because I have to defeat REX over and over and over...

Are you running any mods? Konami fixed this issue in a patch over a year ago

Nope, and just to be safe I've verified my game files and reinstalled the game a few times. I'm starting to think that there's something wrong with my save file, but I'm not really interested in playing through the entire game again on the off chance I'm right. If I knew that would fix it, I'd just do that

I'm not familiar with the Integral version, so I must be playing the standard version.
