Me, Imma go play Twin Snakes, the GameCube Version on an EMU from my physical disk I own.
If they did THIS, literal GAWD tier series THIS bad, I have ZERO hopes for anything else they drop.
Wait for release, some vids and then maybe you can buy
Delta is looking insanely good. That said, I'll definitely not pay full price for it after they butchered the classics like this.
It's going to be gutted of content that has copyrights they won't pay, might even be censored for 'current year' and it most likely won't even run properly for the first year itself, IF they EVER patch it..
As an owner of the Collection, I do think you should get it but with some caveats:
If you're a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥, then no, probably not. If graphics are not the highest priority to you and gameplay is what matters, then yes you probably should.
MGS2 & 3, for better or for worse are almost identical to the HD remaster.
MGS1 gives you 2 different versions of the game, the original NA version and the JP only Integral. It also comes with both the NA VR Missions and the EU Special Missions; all in all, it's 6 discs in 1.
One thing a lot of these non-owners leave out that would actually matter to hardcore fans is every game comes with the Master Book for the series, AND Screenplays for each game. (each Screenplay says it's from before the final product, so some fans may actually enjoy looking for differences in the scripts versus the recording sessions)
I haven't gotten around to MG1 & 2 yet, so you'd have to do your own homework on that.
All in all, if you'd be happy just being able to legally play them on Steam then definitely, if you just want the gameplay, then probably, and if you want a 4k HD remaster, then no.
Edit: and it's worth noting Konami already has a patch on the way
That's just misinformation, all these extras you get. Also MGS1 is emulated 2 and 3 are native on PC. Much better to have on Steam and legal too. Updates on the way by the sounds of it.
Lies to sell more copies for your company boss?
Pathetic.
For the poster to see ACTUAL EVIDENCE IN REALITY. Not just words.

Like I said, misinformation, use whatever agenda you see fit but don't make me part of it lol
Keep in mind, I'm also a MGS snob who has every single version ever released with the emulators/ideal settings. If you are new to the series and playing on your desktop for the first time...just got for it.
Did you play the game back in 1998 on a Playstation? I did, and the game is exactly how it looks, plays the same.
I do the emulation thing too, Swanstation installed and everything playing on it @ 1080 etc
