And either way it looks old, so why does it matter how sharp it is when it still is just an old game and is perfectly playable? Idk how many times I can say splitting hairs here, but lets go for a record?
Here's what I'm saying nice and simple. You sir, care way more about the resolution in a really old game, then a lot of people. it is NOT something for major concern. I'm sorry you don't like the resolutions.
I prefer easy to use games with achievements, over messing with emulators or using GOG. So this is perfectly acceptable here on steam. If you'd like remasters, instead of bashing this collection, try waiting for Delta and if its good, supporting that so they do 1 and 2 in true fashion as well.
I think the problem comes from people wanting to play the game exactly as they remember from childhood, but, that's nearly impossible as everyone saw the game differently especially comparing to PAL/NTSC TV's. Unless you're actually playing on a CRT that can't be replicated perfectly, sure you can use shaders through ReShade etc to get close to that, but it's still not the same. At that point just invest in a retro setup with a PS1/MGS1/CRT TV.
I do think Konami SHOULD at the bare minimum offer filters you can choose from (heck even nintendo does this with Switch's Expansion Pass). But here we are with the most basic ass ports that would only fly 10+ years ago.
For people who use Emudeck on Steamdeck, 5 minutes.
Clearly more effort than Konami put into this collection
