You're either blind or too young to know what a CRT looks like. Scanline filters always look stupid because they lack the colorbleed that comes with an actual CRT.
Good job outing yourself as having never played the original on the hardware it was meant for.
If I would have wanted the original experience I would play the old original copys on original hardware!
Release a new collection for full price, and changing nothing about it, is just lazy and greedy.
So they wrote an entire emulator for it, and can still not beat the quality of an emulator like Duckstation?! What a piss poor outcome!
Oh, you sound pretty like a Konami Fanboy!
The Master Collection is using epsxe to emulate the game. Someone found mentions of it in the game files... Konami will probably remove that in the next update lol.
NOT playing it from a 2023 collection on modern platforms that emulates it with blur filtering.
Of course leave it to Konami to use an outdated emulator instead of Duckstation, Mednafen, XEBRA, or PCSX-R.
Now see this is where I have to give myself some credit for nicely pointing out to you that you have no idea what the ♥♥♥♥ disc rot is and should learn what it takes to keep CDs alive for over 20 years before talking ♥♥♥♥. Discs are not forever and it's stupid to think they are. (I've covered this in previous replies)
What??
You mean the emulator they only wrote to run 1 game in less than a year isn't as good as an emulator that's been in development for over 4 years!?
Damn. I guess I should be outraged that something that is over 4 years old and is made as a passion project is better than something made in less than a year. (if you can't tell, that's sarcasm because that's an incredibly stupid thing to expect)
And you sound like you've run out of ammo because you can't deny making an emulator is work. GG ♥♥♥♥♥.
They literally copy pasted another emulator.
No credit given, because your "point" was that todays buyers should not expect an improvement on new releases, because it would not be the original experience?
You are a funny Konami-Fanboy indeed!
But there is a mayor flaw in your theory, this version is worse than the original releases. The original PS1 version for example looks better than this poor emulated and blurry port does.
It looks like Konami didn´t wrote anything for this game. They just used ePSXe emulator for it, which explanes alot why it looks like crap. So your point is invalid!
And even if they would have wrote an emulator just for one game, it is even more pathetic that Konami with the budget they have, that they deliver such a lazy port!
You are the one who is justifying this greedy and lazy behaviour of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company called Konami.
Also you are clearly grasping for straws here!
Get real, man. Anyone can download an emulator from the web, slightly change some stuff here and there, and call it a day. Why reinvent the wheel? Why Konami would waste time and money making their own emulator from scratch?
Because whatever they're using runs like crap.
