Can't even get the game to run smoothly
The launcher was fine but the game itself is in a fully implayable state with massive imput lag and a level of slowdown so bad that it causes the audio to tear up. Overall it's just a choppy mess and I have no idea on how to fix it

You have to use the North American pack since the European one is running on PAL and it's pretty laggy

UPDATE: okay I found out how to actually install the North American Pack, lil annoying that I had to do it through steamdeck rather than the normal store... but I got it.

anyhow, it helped marginally but the audio is still choppy and the gameplay is veeeeery slow

You're playing with fullscreen or windowed? I happen to have some choppy issues only when in windowed mode. Other than that it's pretty ok except for the slight blurriness on cutscenes.

i've tried both and it's choppy in both. I'm looking around online now for potential fixes because im a little stumped on what's causing the game to run like this

Probably just poor optimization on their part. It is Konami.

The blurriness is caused by them adding an ugly smear filter to the game, so it will look more fuzzy than the original.

okay i FINALLY got it to work by doing a trick i picked up from trying to play old assassins creed games on bigger machines.

basically added this to the properties "-refresh 60 -maxMem=16000", turned on fastsync and playing in full screen on the American Pack and now it FINALLY works smoothly

Probably a bit of a noob question but if I'm on AMD GPU, would the equivalent be freesync?

This is why you don't preorder. Wait for reviews and in this case patches or more likely mods.

I'm having this same issue, what exactly did you do to fix it?
