Any way to turn off the blur filter?
I don't remember it being this blurry.

it honestly looks terrible. I was looking forward to playing it, but until modders fix it, it's inferior to the ps1 version run on that one program I'm probably not allowed to mention:

It has always been this blurry. Might be remembering playing it emulated. Or on an actual CRT, where the scan lines would change how it looked.

nah it was not this blurry, you could clearly see the edges in the pixels and the textures at a distance. With this there is clearly some blur filter applied to "soften" the pixels, but it just blurs everything and looks terrible.

That would probably be from a CRT. The game definitely looks like this.

Yeah, that looks significantly less blurry than what I am currently playing.

It's running in 50 hertz, so that's it's running like crap.

Then there is something else going on, because when i'm playing, it looks the same.
Maybe your graphics card is forcing anti-aliasing or something?

Side by side shots in that are from MGS2 and 3, and are identical to the HD collections. H mentions nothing about blur in MGS1, just the PAL version issues with frame rate. There are no side by sides of MGS1 in that video.
He literally shows side by side comparisons at 9 minutes into the video... You can see how much blurrier this version is.

Nope. It's just how this "port" works.

Not only is blurry it also plays sluggish as hell. And yes I'm playing the EU version as default since I'm European.
antipothis Oct 24, 2023 @ 3:04am
The european version is sadly the pal version and runs at 25hz, you'll have to wait until the licencing issues are fixed or play integral.

RIP Nice ports Konami

A simple option to disable the bi-linear filter would've been nice. I need my clean, sharp, undiluted pixels.
