Yes, I know it's accurate. I had a PS1 and beat MGS countless times.
Funnily enough, I posted this same video here a few days ago.
Tryhard I guess...
And I wish that Konami did a better job because Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite games. Besides, it's the most important game of the franchise. Without it, we wouldn't be here. It definitely deserved a better treatment from Konami, considering what this game did for Konami.
Mere words do not describe the love I have for this franchise, it is awesome and historically Konami put the usual corp restrictions on Kojima and the team throughout the series, the split in the community is unfair and both Konami and Kojima deserve credit respectively but greed can do one.
In any case the series properly coming to PC is massive, also a first for MGS3.
Look at Death Stranding as proof of less restrictions, a weird game wouldn't make it past shareholders at Konami yet it sold very well.
I am hoping that Kojima buys his franchise back and gives it a proper last send off, but that is wishful thinking.
So the only way to increase fps is to remake it in a new engine...
I did know that, having dabbled in emulation myself :)
(Edit: and imo: I always skip codecs and cutscenes and LIKED MGS1 with MGS2 gameplay ;-P)
And if you played the game on emulators, then you would find out that it runs much better than this, even with this limitation (which I'm aware of). So it's not necessary to "remake it in a new engine" to achieve better performance.
The same is true of the PC version on GOG.
I'm not saying (or even implying) the game runs at 60fps anywhere lol.
Maybe you should re-read the op, because you're totally missing the point here.
Oh, so that's a benefit now? You can't be serious.
LLE > HLE (when possible)
There's actually a particular n64 game I can think of that doesn't work as intended unless it lags like it does on original hardware.
If accurate emulation is the goal, then it shouldn't be.
Emulators are capable of running the game at consistent 30fps, that should be the goal:

Now watch the same section of the game in the Master Collection version, at 25:00:

It's a slideshow. What you're failing to realize is that accuracy is the issue here.
