My biggest gripe about TS though was mostly the lack of difficulty. While the game runs on "MGS2 physics" the MGS1-era maps weren't really changed hard to accommodate them, and first person view shooting as well as the M9 makes it much easier then the PS1 version. You also start with a "full" inventory capacity and lifebar in Twin Snakes, while MGS1 had you with a tiny HP bar and inventory space, which increases after each boss.
Some boss fights are a lot easier too. Not just from FPV aiming but Ocelot for instance does a very long "ow I'm hit!" animation when shot, which makes it very easy to stunlock him with proper timing, even with the M9.
Cutscenes I'm mixed on. Some of the stupid stuff like Snake backflipping off a rocket actually doesn't really bother me that much, Metal Gear was never super "serious". Snake almost shooting Baker because he forgot Meryl's codec number is where my main gripe is with the cutscenes actually.
I hope Twin Snakes is eventually included for completion's sake. Maybe in a future volume. I mean, NES MG1 and Snakes Revenge (SR is non-canon, nes MG1 had many changes and is non-canon) are included, so I don't think it would be a stretch to include Twin Snakes. MGS4 even uses voice lines from TS in flashbacks, implying both PS1 MGS1 and Twin Snakes are "canon".
EDIT: I posted this earlier. Damn goldfish memory.
Ocelot is super easy to beat in the original too if you run and aim at the same time, but not everyone knows about this trick (hold square and X, then move).
I agree that having the ability to aim in first person made the game easier, but then again you don't have to use it if you want the original experience.
That's easily fixable, simply remove or replace them with Konami characters.
But I can also download all the titles as a ROM and play them using the emulator.
I'd rather play Twin Snakes than the original MGS, not because I consider TS better, but because I played the original too many times already.
You've played the orginal too many times because it's better than TTS.
No, because TS didn't even exist.
