First time setup

Every time I launch the game, it performs the first time setup installation. Is there any way to fix this?

it does this on one of my PC's, but not the other. i don't understand it. both pc's are relatively similar.

Yes, i am having the same problem as well. I've contacted Steam and awaiting a reply. And i tried re-download the game and It didn't work.

FIXED IT! Seems the Steam version is missing the Visual C++ 2010 x86 redistribution package.

1. Just go here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999
2. Download the vcredist_x86.exe package
3. Put it in your \Steam\steamapps\common\Transformers Fall of Cybertron\redist folder.

Launch the game again, and it should install the Visual C++ package and launch the game.

The game will then work correctly thereafter.

my game doesn't even perform it first time setup instead it freezes my pc the restarts it i meet all of this game requirements plzz plzz help me with this because all ive got is a programme that ive lost £22.49 on and it just restarts my computer i even went to steam support and they wont even reply so fellow steam users dont let my £22.49 go to waste ;)

Its weird the publisher didnt care about fixing this problem since 2012...

I tried Theos's solution and gave up as it did not work was fidling with it earlier and fixed it.

I am running windows 8.1 when i installed the vc++(Yes I installed with admin rights of course) to no avail.

What I did to fix it was;

I opened the installer and selected remove VC++ then I opened the game as per norm and it automaticaly installed the VC++ installer, which I had left sitting in the folllowing directory/folder

/steamapps/common/transformersfallofcybertron

The problem no longer occurs and the game is runing smoother than ever.

With my machine I have a slightly different problem. The installation of the Microsoft VC Redist Package 1/2 never finishes. I installed the package that you linked and copied it over a smaller file that the game had brought with the same name. No changes :/

ForAiur I am having the same issue, but mine freezes a few seconds after it gets to 2 of 2 installs, it freezes my system and I have to do a hard shutdown every time. I am going to try above instructions, maybe I can get her going. I have been at it for over 6 hours, and I won't get that time back, thanks, Activision. Well, I tried everything suggested on this page to no avail, about to call it a loss.
