Strategy (mild spoilers)
Having read that it is easy to make up a winning strategy early on, I wonder what this is, since I like to swap classes even after level 35 (chapter 7?).

The only constant is:
- Gabe is Brute + Hobo + something with strength
- Tycho heals as Gentlemen + Gardener
- Necro throws Sceleton + Dark magic, if MP are there and is running as Elemenstor + Apocalytic
- Moira interrupts the heaviest hitter (or all, depending on the setting) and is running as Cordwainer + Diva/Samurai for speed bonus

Any other ideas?

Anyone found Crabomancer worth it? Or the spells of the the Apocalyptic? Or the Slacker? Or the Delusionist? Or the Diva?

I would be very interested in your take on things and observations of things I have missed.

delusionist's power seal is helpful in some of the longer fights, as is the Apocalyitic's ability to poison with Boils.

...problem is they're not particularly useful outside of that.

My unconventional setup:

Gabe: Brute + Crabomancer + Tube Samurai. Accessory: Bullseye. 100% static.
Strategy: Defense Stance -> Hexoskeleton/Imitation Crab -> Pinchmax/Whatever the earlier rank was called. My Tank and Damage Dealer. I completely ignored the Hobo once I got the second set of class pins. Challenge is also useful for hard-hitting, low-hp packs that you want to AoE down.

Tycho: Varied significantly. He was my secret weapon, since I'd adapt him to whatever I needed on a fight. Sometimes that was Apocalypt for Fire All's in the Colosseum, other times my Gardener. At one point he was my Delusionist for bosses. But always some sort of support-y role, and never a Gentleman.

Jim: Elemenstor + Gardener.
Late game alternate: Elemenstor + Gentleman.
Strategy: My set up guy. Skeleton + Garden spell, throw out some Buffz, and then fish for an Elemenstor spell weakness. Also a handy back-up rezzer on those annoying 4+ groups where none of them target Gabe.

Moira: Cordwainer + Gentleman.
Late game alternate: Cordwainer + Diva.
Strategy: I had her as my core healer/reviver, not Tycho. Once my Gentleman had Trust Fund or Tycho's lack of speed would not kill me on a boss, she became my dedicated Slow/Interrupt support.

Sadly, I never found a place for the Dinosorcerer, Masochist or Hobo, and the Diva is a living speed buff. Delusionist is great on bosses and Apocalypt for some trash, but only if they have a Fire or Ice weakness, and both jobs need a high turn-count to really be useful over another job. I made use of the Slacker, but only as a gimick Colosseum build in tandem with Amps and Molotovs.

Stack classes with Strength on Gabe, Defense on Tycho, Magic on Jim and Speed on Moira.

Tycho will do insane damage with the Crabomancer's defense-based attacks (pinchmax, etc.) if you jack up his defense high enough. Put the bullseye on him for good measure.

Once Moira gets Slow, she needs to keep it on bosses at all times. This means that she will not have a lot of MP to spare, so let her pass out buffz or whatever on her spare turns.

I usually have Moira use the dinosorcerer and Tycho is my elemenstor. Gabe is a brute and jim is my necro. Seems to be working out well though. lvl 37 or so with that set up

I like the crabomancer with Gabe, along with gardener. Popping an energite on him with Moira means I can immedaitely do 3Kish damage to everything using his aoe defense based attack at around lvl 34ish. Not sure what other builds are like, but that's been pretty good vs my other characters. Can always boost his defense more with other things, but haven't bothered much.

Note that moira with Awl hits for 10-20k damage on bosses and most big guys. I'd be hesitant to waste her on much else since you can just drop tons of points on her with energite (other than the fights where holy/Gabe is boosted.

I probably should have run with tycho as my crab though, he was a waste otherwise.

What does the Bullseye do?
Victar Jun 23, 2013 @ 5:06am
The Bullseye makes enemies more likely to attack whoever wears it. This is extremely useful on Insane difficulty, where everything hits hard and you'll want to channel that damage toward your Crabomancer. Tycho works best as a Crabomancer because he doesn't have any other innate strengths to play up. Tycho's more of a jack-of-all-stats character.

Very nice, thx! Is there any comprehensive resource to get this info from? In-game descriptions sure don't tell a lot. ;)

Trial and error my friend haha

I like trial, but I can't stand error. ;)
