Funny example, but i can imagine the Little Nightmares formula working in singleplayer or coop perfectly without making one of the two feel like a lite version.
Oh and Little Big Planet (same shared 2d camera too)
Horror coop games is like stealth or hunting or sniping games for coop I tried playing Sniper Elite 5 with friend we had perfect set voice com and set but still he constantly would not wait and rush like in shooters and would not wait while I am type to wait for snipe for long.
Point is we can play together but kills essence of the point of the game especially the sniping. We played great on Farming Sim 25 but point is that is much harder to get players for specific genre games to immerse especially in genre like horror where you will have players screaming or doing stupid stuff and ruining game for others. It is good that game would be single player playable.
Lethal Company, Zort and REPO are examples of games that are hilarious with friends, but can still be terrifying.
Though in those games the player often gets isolated, which is mainly when the horror kicks in.
I'm curious to see which tricks they'll pull in Little Nightmares and Reanimal to bypass the safety and comfort of being together.
When done right, ripping that feeling of safety away from the player in the right moment can be just as scary or even scarier than a singleplayer horror moment.
