"Most probably protects from mind control and cosmic rays"

Anyone know what this trinket is useful for? I got it after completing a main story quest in Seaweed Slum.

I've got it too, no idea what it does. Did you ever figure it out?

Without spoiling anything, I've finished the game (albeit on Android, not PC) and only one enemy has used a "mind control" attack on my party, so I'm betting this grants either immunity or resistance to that effect.
