Bugged Main Quest Line

Ok, so I saw some posts about peoples main quest line disappearing. After my game got locked on the black screen (after fighting the Black Mage.. I have a whole Discussion post about it), I decided to delete my save file and try figuring out how to get the main quest line to disappear.

I have found that the Main Quest line disappears after completing Dear Diary: Pesky Heroes.

My first run through the game I had no issues with the Main Quest Line disappearing. In my first run through, I decided to go after the 7-sided triangle all 3 times whenever there was an option to save a city or investigate the claims of the 7-sided triangle. Doing this allowed the main quest line to continue after Dear Diary: Pesky Heroes.

My second run through the game, once I got to the point where I could either investigate the claims of the 7-sided triangle or go save the cities, I went and saved the cities each time. This however caused the main quest line to disappear after Dear Diary: Pesky Heroes.

Another user stated that they only went for the 7-sided triangle the first time and decided to save the cities as the next 2 options. This resulted in their Main Quest Line disappearing at the same point (upon completing Dear Diary: Pesky Heroes).

I hope that this gets fixed by the developers. As it is a pretty big bug and doesn't allow you to continue with the quest line to go to the Mausoleum and fight the Dark Grey Mage or travel to the Upsie-Daisies to fight the Black Mage.

Thanks, adding this to list. Are you sure that there are no side quests (not the randomly generated ones) available at any location after the main quest has disappeared?

I had this same bug and went to all zones looking for more quests.. sadly its just random ones.

me as well, checking every possible location but only the usual collect, escort, slay side quests

I had followed all possible side quests (not the randomly generated ones) after this point. The side quests that were available were for the Marching of the Trees quest line and ended with The Furry Menace. No other available Side quests (besides the randomly generated ones). Completing The Furry Menace did not allow for the continuation of the main quests.


Though, there were interesting messages the GM said in the quest titled Catching up with the trees available from Oakland. Upon being sent back to the Swamp the GM's messages were what seems to be hashes.

Not sure what I keep doing wrong! My latest play which I have to delete and restart..ran out of main quest even after choosing to get all the triangle things and alot of the side quests I did before where no longer an option in the new play.

That's the right folder, in the KoPP folder you can delete the folder with a bunch of numbers to start a fresh save (your inventory items will be kept but equipped ones lost). If you want to also get rid of those you'd have to edit registry. It's possible to "backup" the save by copying that folder somewhere safe but recovering it has the same issue of your characters not having any equipment.
