Yeah, the problem is that Apophis is currently better than ANY other god with the sole exception of Ikshana if you are running a summoning build. Things don't need to be completely balanced but having a definite absolute always the best option isn't good game design.

just an opinion about nerfing in a game who gets so much of its fun from being sometimes crazy and unbalanced
I'm generally against nerfing in this kind of game, but I do think the starting three choices (culture, class, god) should have a very rough parity of power or utility. Apophis is, maybe, an order of magnitude better than some of the weaker starting gods?
