I'm going to play this game again from scratch using Proton. I was unable to make Gameforge's own launcher work properly with wine-staging so i kinda gave up last year. I played for years this game using Wine before eme ruined their own launcher the last year they still had this game, and stopped playing altogether due to RL issues. Sadly I didn't catch in time that email "run to migrate your stuff!" by the time i read it i was one month too late.
Why can't game companies ever test their own launchers with Wine? Oh they think everyone runs games in Windows, huh...

The Steam Deck is a PC that looks like a portable console running Steam OS, meaning, NOT Windows but (Arch) Linux. Only issue may be having an AMD gpu, Wine is traditionally better with NVIDIA, and Proton if just another fork of Wine. This game has worked fine for YEARS with Wine, its just their stupid badly made launchers. Thankfully not an issue with Steam.
