In case you are not affected by the above and you always played via Gameforge, please contact our support team with all the details and they should be able to give you more information about your case: https://gf.link/terasupportguide
You say that like this practice is justified. I dont care if i have been contacted or not, the only real value of a MMO is its persistence, if you cant even provide that then what value does your product have?
The internet in a nutshell
Because it's not as simple as this. This is a business with a F2P model, so they should understand the value of offering services to players who have never spent any money and how customers value the things which have been paid for. Despite this, they chose to delete anyone who didn't opt in to this transfer without considering that they didn't succeed in communicating with everyone. They chose to erase the valued assets of customers who spent money to acquire said assets. They chose to leave no recovery path when it would have cost nearly nothing to back up the player data for future restoration. All of these choices reflect on the company as a whole and whether past, present, and future customers want to do business with them. I can guarantee you that this decision has cost them paying customers, because no sane individual gives more money to a company who has proven that it regards their purchases as something to be easily deleted.
For my part, I never received an email from Enmasse or from Gameforge about this, and that is on them. Their failure to communicate with me caused me to be unaware that this was happening. This resulted in them deleting several hundred dollars worth of assets that I had paid for. Now, I want to play again, but everything is gone through no fault of my own. I will never do business with this company in the future and will badmouth them at every opportunity to ever gamer friend I have and any time this topic comes up. It will be my anecdote for any related story, and you can be certain that I will remember to mention the company.
LOL!, NOW YOU ARE OUT A JOB! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH
