TERA

Tera won't start. What's the problem?
Hello there,
I've been trying to get Tera running on my computer for a few days, but so far unsuccessful. Every time I start the game the following message appears:
"An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact Support."

Said and done. The support could not really help me, so I created this post here. Can someone possibly tell me how I could get the game to work?
I have to say that it does not matter if I download the game from Steam or use the "normal" launcher. Both have exactly the same error. I really hope someone can help me here.
Greetings Andy

Grüß dich,

What have you tried so far?
Have you checked this guide which focus is the error you're experiencing (now reworded but still the same)? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=865109082
Let me know how it goes. The only other thing I could do is troubleshooting this issue with you over TeamViewer tomorrow if you like (afk today).

Good luck!

Now I'm totally confused. I just installed the game on my laptop and the error does not occur there. Windows 8.1 is currently running on the laptop and Windows 10 is running on the computer. Do I have to change something in Windows 10?

I've given like 6 possible reasons for this error in my video. Support should've given you some copy-pasted stuff too.

Exactly. I've got some tips from support, but none of them helped. I've already tried a variety of things:
-Many ways in compatibility mode
-Sync system time
-Clear Cache
-Repair it
-Replaced some files
-compatibility mode
-Administrator
-deactive Firewall, Antivirus, etc.
-reinstalled several times
-Hints that you have posted
-etc.

All these things have not shown any effect.

But when I installed the game on my laptop, it ran immediately. So it must have something to do with Windows 10. I have already contacted the support again and am currently waiting for an answer. Maybe the game just is not compatible with the current version of Windows 10 (Home).

I will wait for some hints from the support and test them. If these show no effect, I will probably have to do without the game.

Could you be more specific?

Hey,
Sorry for the late reply.

I've tried almost every one of your hints but unfortunately none of that has helped me.

1: Tested several times.

2: Tested several times.

3. IPv6 is disabled

4. I only use one graphics card

5. IPv6 is disabled (not necessary)

6. I've never played the game before, so I do not think so.

7. I have not tested it yet, but I think it does not work.

8. I can not use this hint because ALL games will crash immediately if I enable this setting.

It is still not understandable to me why the game is running on my laptop with Windows 8.1 but not on my Windows 10 PC ...

The fact that the game works on your laptop but it doesn't on your PC automatically excludes a connection issue. It also semi-excludes VPN-related issues. Obviously, your account isn't blocked/banned either. So it's most probably an OS issue, including anti-virus, Windows Defender or Firewall, or your hosts file.

P.S. Hi and it's OK. o/
