TERA

Is it possible to have both NA and EU version of Tera on steam at the same time?
It's because I have friends playing on the NA version of Tera but I want to check things out on the EU version of Tera too.

depends on your region i guess, NA and EU have some countries blocked so u wont see them on steam, though if you cant find them both on steam you could still download the normal client from their website and hope your region isnt blocked

Right now I have the NA version and it runs without problems but when I tried to download the EU version today it just started to overwrite the files from the NA version, so was wondering if there was a way to have both versions on your computer at the same time without any of the version overwritting each other

i guess by installing it in a other direction of your maps (thats how i usually do things)

Install it in a different folder or rename it to "TERA-GREEDFORGE" for example

hahaha new thought of renaming the folder for the NA version but do you think I would still be able to run the NA version with a different name on the folder? Like can steam find the files for it?

Both ways should work but creating a different installation folder through steam and then installing the game it that different folder is most likely the smarter idea

It seems like none of it works :/ I tried to rename the NA version and it began redownloading the game and it seems like steam won't let you have games in more than one folder because I keep getting the message about steam would keep all your games in one folder

go under steam -> settings -> downloads -> steam library folder -> create a new one (or 2) and then install the game in that folder

It still gives me the message ''Selected drive already has a Steam library folder. Steam will manage multiple game installs in a single folder for you.''

OK, question: How are you even able to play TERA NA via Steam when you live in Europe? You had it downloaded from before or you've using some semi-legal stuff to fool Steam?

You can have only 1 Steam library on the same hard drive. If the games' names are the same, then, naturally, you won't be able to play them both.
It would be easiest if you simply left only one to start via Steam and the other via its normal launcher. Alternatively, you can try renaming the folders in your Steam library just before you launch the game. o_O

simply launch it via its steam ID: steam://install/323370
https://steamdb.info/app/323370/ (its the info website if you need it)

copy pasta "steam://install/323370" into your browser or a steam chat windows and click on it

When Tera first came out to steam I downloaded it and it was apparently the NA version and ever since then I have had it on my pc

Well I thought of getting the EU launcher from their website but I wanted their trading cards on steam as well xD But I might need to do that yeah

just realized that there´s a new "install this game here" green button on the top right of the website -.-

Backup your NA copy (by simply renaming the folder). Then download the EU version. You should have 2 different shortcuts. If you want to play EU, start the EU shortcut and have the EU folder renamed to Tera. Respectively, if you want to play NA, start its shortcut and have its folder renamed to Tera. This way you should be able to use whatever it is you want to use/get.

Hmmm I thought of that solution as well but then you have to let steam verify integrity of the game files everytime you switch from NA to EU or opposide but I guess that's the best solution to this c:

But thanks a lot for the help, all three of you! :)
