You can solo your way up to max level (65) but you have to start interacting with other people because the solo endgame content is not meant to substitute the party play. In the end of the day, TERA is an MMO (massively multiplayer online game) and if you don't like to play with other people, you'll probably lose interest in a few days. I personally have been playing for 4 years.
You don't have to talk to people if you don't like to socialise. Nor are you obliged to join a guild. I don't know how old you are but as the saying goes 'appetite comes with eating', so you might actually find it entertaining to meet new people from all over Europe (and even Asia) and get to know each other. Obviously, don't trust everything people say to you. Gamer girls are not always... girls. :D
It won't hurt to try. You can spend your time on exploring the world map in some skin-revealing costume if you like. o/
