How is this not Raft?

Yeah, I know everyone and their 3rd cousin is calling this a Raft ripoff. That is honestly not what I am getting at here. I mean - yeah lets be real, somebody saw Raft and said "Yeah cool game, I could do this better." And that's fine, as far as it goes, it can be done well. Coral Island is a good example of somebody taking Stardew Valley and saying "Cool game, I can do this better" and then actually adding, refining, improving several things.

So my question is - How is this NOT Raft? What does it do better, or differently, to set it apart and be worth playing for fans of Raft?

I'm going to have to wait for more development to give a good answer to that question. Game is fairly barebones right now.

why do players all need to compare one game to another on the same theme???

the difference and especially in the non-toonized design which personally I prefer not having played the other games because of that

ya start with a hook,,, classic raft,,, all other ♥♥♥♥ afterwads totally raft rip off... doesnt matter at all if the game had more fun content sum bosses story line or whatever.

I'm not going to answer your first sentence because it's just irrelevant

for the rest i will answer this all the games that are on the same subject have the same basic mechanics which is normal

you are doing the same thing as the gamers who compare all the FPS to CSGO when it's not the first or the last fps to have existed, but they all have the same basic mechanics

I personally never compare so the only thing that counts is if you like the game or not.

People compare games because they are familiar with one, and then another comes along that seems the same. So of course they want to know how it's different, and that is why I asked the original question.

From what I've seen so far on the store page and some vids, this looks and plays like Raft but with different graphics. People on the forum and in the reviews are saying this is a rip-off of raft. Is it? I don't know, that's why I asked the question. What sets this apart? Raft is a well developed complete game which I already own. Does this game have differences that make it different enough to buy?

That's why people compare games.

the thing that bothers me is not that he compares
but that it is systematic and disrespectful of the work of the devs
especially when a game begins because the difference never happens at the beginning when the devs lay the foundations of the game but much later

My first impression is that it was a raft ripoff too. But it's a different game with different art style and different game play objectives. Every game incorporates things that other games do. Need wood? Punch a tree. Wood, fiber, stone gets you pickaxe, axe, etc.

I am playing this as a chill little looter/builder. I am playing peaceful and it's enjoyable. A bit grindy, but I'm not in a hurry to get anything done. The instructions could be better. And I hope there will be more craftable assets and build pieces. For what it is, it was a good spend for $10.

to be honest , for me much better then raft . because you can build such a nice ship , craft it all on your ship house , and special in co-op there is work enough for two I enjoy from it - So maybe you can give it a try

What does that mean though? You can build a nice ship in Raft, craft everything on your ship house, and there is plenty to do with coop.

I can accept that it might not be a copy of Raft but I still haven't seen any talk about what makes this different, from the store page images and a couple videos I watched it really looks like an incomplete version of Raft. Can anyone who has played both give any reasons to play this game?

At this point NONE, there is nothing to do at all and I think these devs a pretty clueless after the first few updates.
