Best space game! Play this!!!1

I had easily put 100 hours into vanilla FTL
I now have almost 500 hours with Multiverse (free mod)

It's really good, but I'll still explain:
The base game is amazing, with an insane amount of replay value across several different ships and combinations, that takes the form of jumping across galaxies - from beacon to beacon - and dealing with different encounters as you stay just ahead of the fleet chasing you until you can gear up for the final fight.

Gamplay is primarily ship combat and "choose-your-own-adventure" events.
The ship combat is fairly in-depth without it being overwhelming. The combat involves targeting different systems (or even the crew themselves) to cripple their weapons to prevent them from shooting, their engines/pilot to prevent them from dodging/running away, oxygen to knock out their O2, etc. Vanilla does a good job of allowing different ways to beat your challenges, but the Multiverse mod takes it to a whole 'nother level that I honestly feel incapable of fully describing.

You gotta stick with this one, once everything clicks and you know what your doing there is a very good roguelike strategy game here. Super re playable and expertly designed; if you're a fan of the genre just get it, you won't be disappointed.

Good game, beware of the additional costs in therapy you need to pay for when playing it though. Giant alien spiders are no joke!

i know saying things are "the dark souls of X" is pretty overdone, but this is genuinely the dark souls of roguelikes.
