Why would you want or need to do that ?

To create a self contained game folder for use on a USB stick or perhaps for machines with limited access to the C drive etc.

You could use symlinks, but that wouldn't work too well with a flash drive. Personally I like GameSave Manager's Sync and Link feature. The game saves in my Dropbox folder so I can start a ship on one computer and continue it on another. :)

Has anyone discovered a way to change to save file location? I need to change it so that it doesn't save to my OS partition.

i wonder if you change the steam install to be on a different drive might change it, no clue, but something to try, maybe you'll get lucky.

I noticed that when the internet was down, restricting FTL's access to network my documents, it saved to the user file on my usb. When I want to play it at work I pull out the Ethernet cable haha.

This is old, but whatever.

Go to the folder with FTL (browse local files in steam properties), make a bat file (like ftl.bat by making a text file and changing the extension to .bat) with this inside
set userprofile=%~dp0 start FTLGame.exe

and also create a folder called 'Documents' (or possibly whatever it is in your language, again, in the FTL folder).

It should then save your game in there.
What this is doing is basically just changing the place ftl (and only ftl, or rather, only the program started by this file, which is ftl) thinks your 'my documents' is.

If FTL doesn't find the Documents folder, it will just create a folder called user in the ftl folder. If you create the same file I wrote about above but neglect the folder part, it will read the ones it created without internet. Or you could just move them.

Yeah, but someone refreshed it, and not the first time either, so maybe it's gonna be helpful.
