Report a translation problem
There are breaches in ship hull that result in loss of O2 for the room. If you open any room adjacent to it, they will lose O2 as well if your O2 generator is basic (can't generate as fast as losing O2). Fire also consume O2. If a room is red (O2 depleted) it will very slowly go back to normal depends on your O2 level, and depend on if you are opening the doors to adjacent rooms with plenty of O2 (sharing O2).

OK, I figured it out. If you have a crew of the race 'translator', it will suck the oxygen out of the room.
