If you still have no idea what I mean, watch the vid for a while, seeing it might help more then reading it.
The video is a run with the stealth ship so it also shows how you could get a foot on the ground with it.
The ship relies on cloaking for the early game and getting shields should be a priority.
Also you can run into some real bad luck if you have to face beam drones.
yeah if you run into beam drones with stealth cruiser early on.. it can be game over.. it would make more sense in this scenario to target their drone control instead of their weapons
true
2. As soon as you can, level your cloak to at least 2.
3. Try to get another weapon.
That's pretty much all you need to begin. Stealth cruiser is my number 1 choice, I love it.
Reason : It makes their first volley miss if your engines are powered enough wich isn't a problem with the A-layout. But also delay there 2nd volley. If your cloak immediatly you loose the first benefit.
EDIT: This is because while you are cloaked your weapons continue recharging while your enemies don't. You can perfectly disable all enemy weapons before he ever has a chance to fire.
Either way you don't level your evasion since while you are cloaked missed shots don't give you evasion xp.
EDIT 2: Also, NEVER try to face Zoltan cruisers early. You will ALWAYS lose with the stealth ship.
2. Initially, you don't even get 100% evasion while cloaked, you get around 85%... which can be extremely tragic, as they may still hit you with a volley.
3. If you get beamed, cloaking will not avoid the beam from opening your hull like butter. This, is the most important reason of why you have to cloak as soon as you come in: To make sure you get the first shot and disable their weapons systems.
I just began a stealth cruiser run, and I even decided to go suicidal by having a fire beam. Even by using a retarded attack plan, the strategy works like a charm:

If you want to perform ideally and use the ship to its utmost, you will need to learn enemy weapon timing to know when to cloak for maximum potential. E.g., if they have a Heavy Laser, a small missile launcher (Leto/Artemis), and a Mini-Beam, the normal ideal time to cloak will be right after the missile launcher fires. If it's a Leto, it'll fire at the same time as the Heavy Laser; if it's an Artemis, it'll fire 1 second later and you can cloak both the laser and missile - and in either case you're cloaking before their Mini-Beam fires. You should be able to fire your Dual Lasers immediately before cloaking (firing it while cloaked reduced the cloak duration) and then use your own beam across 3-4 rooms (including their weapons) while the shields are down.
The Nesasio definitely takes some skill and knowledge to use well, but it's strong if you get to that point - I'd expect to win right about 99% of the time with it.
