Migrate progress from GOG version
I bought this game when it was on sale on GOG, but now I've got a Steam version from HumbeBundle. I have already unlocked 7 ships, almost every "B" plan, and have a lot of achievements, so I don't want to lose my progress.

My question is: Is it possible to copy or somehow migrate my game data from the GOG to the Steam version?

I have been using the Mac version so I'm not sure if your experience will be the same.

I had installed the game from a dmg I got from a friend to see if I liked it. I did, removed that version off my computer and bought the game through the FTL site and then used the steam key. After opening the steam version all my unlocked ships were still there.

Again, this is on Mac so I can't guarantee it'll be the same for you. I suggest maybe keeping a copy of the save file just to be safe

Thanks for your answer!
I was planning to simply overwrite the required files, but I don't know whether the Steam and GOG versions are compatible.
According to your description I assume that simply re-installing should work, so when I have the opportunity to try it out, I will report back.

I have a non steam version and I got my saves still. Didn't even have to do anything.

Okay, so I simply installed the Steam version - I didn't even bother to uninstall the GOG version -, and it worked like a charm, my progress was kept.
Also, if someone is as lazy as me to reconfigure the game, just copy the settings.ini from the previous install to the new one, they are compatible as well.
Case solved and closed, thanks for the answers!

I had the very same question and just did the same thing after reading this thread. Worked out fine, everything was there and I didn't have to do anything. Very convenient! I also uninstalled the GOG version and it didn't complicate anything. Everything is still there. :)

Just chiming in to say the same thing worked for me. I was pretty happy to not have to unlock everything again.
