If you teleport crew to an enemy ship than destroy the ship while they are still on it, will they die?

The first time I encountered the enemy boss I thought I almost had him down and beamed 4 guys to suicide the ship systems...then I found out I had to fight a 2nd and 3rd stage lol...

I did that once. I never used the teleporter again.

Just teleport them back before they die or the ship is destroyed. You pretty much have the control of destroying a ship or not. (You autofire or weapons.)

You really should try it again. You can still attack with bombs and Ions, as well killing all the crew gives you much better loot. For example if you have a level two teleporter you can get a blue event with slavers to get a crew member before a fight and then when you kill them all you have a second good chance to get another crew memeber. Two crew members from one fight is nice. Finally using crew to kill the final bosses weapons makes the fight much easier.

Yes, but if you use artilery beam ship make sure it doesn't kill two of your mantis like I did :P

Yeah, I misjudged some missiles one time and killed my boarding crew. I'll never make that mistake again though.
