There is no shame in doing so, and is how and when you make your decisions.
- Get the Kestrel B. It's generally agreed to be more versatile and powerful than the Kestrel A, and is relatively easy to get.
- Pause frequently and manage your systems wisely. You have plenty of oxygen; rerouting your life support to the weapons won't be fatal unless you forget to turn it back on.
- Don't spider. Not even once. The Alien Spiders and Zoltan Eye are the most likely events to kill your
, as well as anything Mantis-related.
- Don't take stupid chances, but don't be too cautious. The game expects you to lose; a daring barrage of lasers may get you killed but it may win you the game.
- Don't underestimate your crew. An experienced
can give you massive bonuses to your systems.
I could give plenty more, but there are many guides on how to start off. Try flicking through a few of them! Good luck!Use some of the guides to help you, they are very useful for all players involved.
And remember when you get utterly screwed over by some horrific sequence of events, just think about what you could have done better.
This game uses the "learn by failing" approach so don't be put out if you do fail.
Huh, I didn't realise that. Something new every day, eh?
You can of course repeat the above scenario with a barrage capable of penetrating shields, or a beam weapon about to penetrate existing shields, or bombs etc.
