What is 'Damaged Stasis Pod' and how to repair?

It is a random event in Engi or Zoltan sectors, if it happens you get a new crew member and a quest, I think it's another random event which leads to unlocking a ship if you're lucky enough to get both the events.

You need to bring it to the stasis-expert space station in one of the Zoltan Controlled Sectors.
