Sugestion: Windows RT version
It would be great if there were a Windows RT version of FTL. It would have to be stand alone, as Steam isn't available on RT.

It shouldn't be too hard to do, as most apps just need to be recompiled using Windows RT as a target.

You would then use the Windows Store to distribute (sell) it.

I, for one, would LOVE to be able to play FTL on my Surface tablet. And, assuming the price is reasonable, I would mind paying for it again.

Is the desktop on Windows RT open to developers? From what I understand, you can only write Metro (excuse me, "Windows 8 UI") apps if you're targeting RT. If this is correct, and someone else feel free to correct me, but they would probably have to rewrite the game in the Met---- Windows 8 UI, which probably wouldn't be possible. Again, could be wrong, but I hope this broadens your understanding of the situation.

You can develop desktop apps for RT. But, as long as the game runs in full screen mode, there really isn't any difference in coding it for the Metro interface.

Assuming the developers are using DirectX, it should be an easy port.

I contacted them directly regarding this and they said that they would take it under consideration.

Note, you cant run apps on RT not because you cant get them in the store - it is because RT uses a different processing architecture (ARM I think) which requires recompilation compared to standard x86 games. The other limitation is when using something like OpenGL graphics, which don't have an ARM port I believe. The store is only really a limitation when a developer takes a personal stand, for example Notch around Minecraft (which exists in ARM ports for other devices like iOS)
