Multiple save games?

So... *cough*
I started a game of FTL with my dad. Back in the day, he and I played a lot of single player games together. So I wanted to show him FTL to relive old times, and he loved it. However, he had to leave before we could finish the game, so I hit "Save & Quit." Now, however, I cannot play the game until my Dad comes over again to finish it off.

So... am I wrong? Is there some way I can start a new game without erasing the Save Game my dad and I created?
