That ship is secret, how do you know about it?
Once you unlock the layout take care of your crew, locate a rock homeworld and jump around empty beacons (Long range scanners help). The hard part then is getting to a rock homeowrld in the first place as you don't know the names of the sectors ahead, though you can try to make a path going through as many red sectors as possible.
Just rename your Crystal to Ruwen before entering Rock Homeworlds, and it will show quest beacon, if you have more it is from other quests, one takes you to Crystal homeworlds.
When playing as The Kestrel (or The Torus. I dont remember) i unlocked the Rock Crusier (Bulwark). So i played it, literally first game i found the secret sector. Can i speak in this situation of extreme luck???
I did this recently, but the game didn't show the quest beacon. I just had to try all the jump points possible, tripped on it, then my (ahem) "Ruwen" opened the gateway. Not sure if it maters, but I named him in the hangar.
Renaming a crystal being to Ruwen doesn't make the portal beacon be marked by a quest marker anymore. That has been patched.
