couldn't jump...
Just had something odd. On the exit node before the last battle. I'd just defeated the rebel ship on the node, the button at the top "Jump" was green and the map screen opened but I couldn't select to jump to the final sector. My only options were other nodes or cancel.

So I died to the background fire taking out my hull unable to jump despite the button being green & the jump map opening...

Sorry no screen shot, I was trying to jump out with 3 hull left...

The game Auto-pauses when you go to the sector map via the JUMP button. So, next time grab a screenshot. You have time. :p

Anyway, in the meantime. Do you have any mods installed or ever had any mods installed?

Not really, I've fought rebel ships without fuel.

You always get 1 fuel if you win.

According to the wiki, normal Rebel events give you normal rewards, not a gaurranteed chance of fuel.

All Last Stand eent according to the wiki have(not counting events where nothing happens or is a store or repair station) give you standard rewards.

Scrap + 2 random resources (fuel, missiles or drone parts) + a small chance to include a random augmentation, weapon or drone schematic.

Without a screenshot, there's no way of knowing for sure. But as funny as it sounds, you might have been at the wrong beacon. Sometimes when they are close together, the label on the map looks like it's at the neighboring beacon. This situation doesn't happen very oftern, but it can be confusing. A good hard squint at the little arrow nub thing can clear it up.

I second this as it has happened to me before a few times

Sorry for the lack of replies. I've played twice to the final mission since without issue.

I do think the mostly likely thing is two beacons almost on top of each other (something that happens just often enough to be annoying).

I must have had fuel as there was no "Wait" button that I recall seeing, and anyway defeating a rebel fleet occupied beacon encounter always gives only 1 fuel.

I play the "original" version with no mods. The game is unfair enough without the added hacking...

It's not unfair though.

It's harsh, but not unfair.
